Admin/Buddybar Gone!

    Hi,
    my admin/buddbar has completely disappeared from the front end.

    I searched some threads and checked my footer, it’s not that. i’ve also uninstalled all plugins and installed a fresh copy of the theme but it’s still gone.

    How can i force it to display? Any help greatly appreciated! 🙂

    show_admin_bar(true);

    thanks very much, i do appreciate it, but this fix then overrides this thread…

    i had everything set up and working perfectly then last night it just disappeared for logged in users.

    why do i feel like i spend my whole life going round in circles with this thing 😀

    Sorry for your frustration. Sometimes you have to trace back your footsteps. The toolbar would not have just stop working out of the blue. You had to make some change that altered the behavior either by changing themes, adding plugins, or adding custom code. If you can think back to what you did before noticing that it was disappearing then you will find what caused the issue. Also just for future reference once your installation is set up how you like then always make a copy of your site and the database so if you decide to make more changes and things go awry then you have something to fallback on.

    The only plugin i’ve installed this week i removed today.
    I did alter the footer last night but re-installed the theme by ftp to override those changes and i’ve removed all custom CSS.

    It’s made no difference, i’m totally at a loss now.

    Would reinstalling Buddypress help?

    No, of course it didn’t work that would be too easy i guess 😀

    I now have brand new clean theme install, clean BP install & i’ve removed plugins.

    I don’t know what else i can do, if you have any ideas please please let me know.

    Sorry again for your frustration but maybe you should hire a developer that understands WP and BP. It may costs you some bucks but it will save you a ton of frustration.

    Last time i hired a developer i got ripped off for £250 which is why i’m working all day every day doing my best to learn everything i can about this thing.

    I’ll find the issue somehow.
