I’m working on moving my community forum to buddypress. I’ve been looking for a good member media album that includes youtube imports. Your Album+ keeps coming up everywhere. :)
I was wondering how “stable” is the beta version? Would it be usable on a live site?
    Thanks!

BP-Album+ is safe to use on production websites. We’re working closely with several people running it on large public-facing sites with thousands of users. When we release BP-Media 1.9, it will import BP-Album installations.

Oh that’s great news! I’ve had a hard time finding a good media gallery for bp that included video linking!

Sorry just one more question. On this page, what would be the best version to install? http://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/downloads/list

The album+ is just for photos right? Is the BP Media the one that includes youtube linking? That’s what I really need right now. :)

BP-Media 0.1.9 is the version that supports video links. We’re currently working very hard to get an alpha release together for in the next few weeks. You can actually download the nightly build here and try out the video embed features, but don’t use it on a production site.

The version you want to download is 0.1.8.10. You can get it from the WordPress plugins repo here: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bp-album/

Thanks for your help! I set up the Album+ and it works great. I’m just having one small problem. It’s bumped my right sidebar down under the photo area. This is only on the album page and on the photo view.
I’m guessing it might be a size issue with the media container? If you have a sec could you have a look?

I’ll set up another site to try the BP Media on. It sounds exactly what I’m looking for. Thanks for a great bp addon! :)

BP-Media is only guaranteed to render pages correctly when using the default BuddyPress template set.

The problem is being caused by the template you’re using. You’ll need to work with your template developer to get it to render properly.

    Thanks!

It’s ok I finally figured it out. Their template has a import for different options, one is your Album+. Once I used that to move the right files it worked great again. :)

“It’s bumped my right sidebar down under the photo area. This is only on the album page and on the photo view.”

If you are using the bp template pack and have had to change the DIV structure to match your theme, you will need to match the DIVs in the two files single.php & pictures.php otherwise it will cause alignment issues. The two files are located in the /wp-content/plugins/bp-album/includes/templates/album folder.

    Hope this helps.
