Allow Custom WP Role to View/Edit users xProfile Fields like Site Admin

Okay, so I’m building a site for a local EMS agency and their officers need to have access to all the extended profile fields for all their members, but I really don’t want to give them full site admin access if I don’t have too. Is there any plug-in out there for this or mod/hack to accomplish this?

I’ve created a role called Officers in WP and just need to be able to let that role view and edit all the members extended profile fields.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I’m on WP 3.8.1 & BP 1.9.2

You’ll need to grant the edit_users capability to your custom role.

I’ve done that, but when my test officer user clicks the edit button on the profile it just comes up with

Not Found

It looks like nothing was found at this location. Maybe try a search?

This just seems to give the Officer role access to edit users within WP, but doesn’t apply to the BuddyPress Extended Profiles. 🙁

@henrywright — BuddyPress doesn’t use WP roles or caps anywhere much yet, so giving edit_users won’t help.
