Wondering how to replace the name ‘Groups’ throughout BuddyPress in favour of something else (while keeping the Groups functionality, etc.)?

Tried that but it doesn’t seem to be working. I’m using a child theme of Genesis framework.

OK, so I have ‘groups’ slugs successfully customized to ‘companies’ by using wp-config.

Is there a way to replace all instances of ‘Groups’ in favour of Companies throughout a BP site other than using the guide to customize labels with a language file, etc.?

somehow missed your “other than language files” erm this is the best way!
