When a new user registers they choose the picture they would like to use for the avatar, they click next and you get the “congratulations” message without having to crop your avatar like in previous versions so new sign ups all have the default image. I am on the most current official release of BP

it stinks because now once this happens users don’t feel like going through the menus to change it to a picture they chose in the first place

Same problem here. Just reinstalled everything with the latest versions, because my previous attempt used subdomains instead of subdirectories.

The avatar doesn’t get uploaded/created. The full name also doesn’t get stored.

EDIT: It worked on the second attempt, after removing some avatar related code from bp-custom.php…

Users crop when they activate – not when they signup.
