backing up and importing user database from bp 1.0.2 to new version of buddypress

Hi,

I currently am running a site with buddypress 1.0.2 with over 2,000 users. I want to roll the site over to a new install, with the new version of buddypress while keeping the users, passwords and profiles in tact. The new install is on the same server as the old one.

What is the best way to backup and import all the users/info?

I am unable to simply upgrade my existing installation because of a few problems we’ve been having.

@dmcdmc – You’ll have to manually upgrade to BP 1.1.3 before upgrading to BP 1.2.4.1.

Sorry if I was unclear…I don’t want to upgrade from bp 1.0.2. to the new version.

I am trying to backup the 1.0.2. database so I can import it into a new install with bp 1.2.4. on it on the same server. Basically I want to start with a clean slate with the same users, passwords, profiles etc.
