BP 1.1 logo help

Hi

I am a complete novice at design, and seeing i have a lot more time, I’d thought I’d give it a go.

How do i replace the site name with an image logo? And is there an “idiot’s” guide to customising the default theme? (such as background colours etc)

Hey chyllyphylly,

Concerning your idiots guide: Download Firefox, install Firebug and click on the item you’d like to change (colors for example). It will show you what to do and where you’ll need to customize.

Thanks for the firebug info, just downloaded it, and it has given me a better understanding.

From one design novice to another, to replace the <h1> title with your logo, open the header.php file of your child theme. Look for the #logo div and use an <img src=> tag that points to your logo that you’ve uploaded the your theme’s image directory.

(I’m looking forward to the day BP adds an admin page to the themes, allowing you to simply specify such common changes.
