Just wanted to post this minor setback I dealt with:

If you installed BP 1.9, and don’t see the dynamic links for custom navigation menus in Appearance >> Menus, you have to click on “Screen Options.” Then, in the drop-down, check the BuddyPress box.

(This is rudimentary, but use Ctrl+F or Cmd+F if you can’t find “Screen Options” in the menus page)
