BP-Media question/error?

Hello,
Before posting this I searched but could not find any others having this problem so I am wondering if it is just something not configured properly. My problem is this, when I try to upload a photo from my Android phone, an alert shows that tells me I need to use a valid extension(jpg, png or gif) after the upload completes 100%. I am using proper image extensions so I am confused what the problem could be.
I tested this today with everything up to date. I am using all the current versions of WP and BP and the default BP theme. I am testing mobile uploads on a Droid Bionic(Andriod version 4.0.4) If you or anyone else could help me out on this it would be greatly appreciated. Also if this has already been discussed and I missed it, I apologize.
