bp_forums_filter_caps add 12 additional db query to any wordpress page (not bp page)

hi guys anyone know what this function for at wordpress page (not bp page) ?
bp_forums_filter_capsbecause after i try to remove the filter hook in bp-forums.php line 541
`add_filter( ‘user_has_cap’, ‘bp_forums_filter_caps’ );`$wpdb->queries lost 12 query, is this hook needed to run in wp homepage ?
