is 1.7.x still available to download from somewhere?

After installing 1.8.1 all the users blogs has gone.
When I visit e users main profile page there used to be a tab with all his sites (blogs). Also in the main search dropdown there was an option to select blogs to search in.
Both has gone. I reinstalled an old buddypress (1.2.4) and I get the blogs back (but with other compatibility problems).
So can I download 1.8 somewhere?
Can someone mail it to me?
    Thanks!

    OK, found it at http://wordpress.org/plugins/buddypress/download/
Let’s give it a try and hope that the blogs work after reinstall the previous version.

    No, it does not work.
Why does the old version (1.2.4) shows the blogs of a member but the newer buddypress versions not?
    Any ideas?

@scheppler – Version 1.2.4 is a number of major versions out of date. If your site is currently running 1.2.x, I recommend upgrading first to 1.5 (use this guide to help http://codex.buddypress.org/developer/releases/upgrading-to-buddypress-1-5/), then to 1.6, then to 1.8.

Thanks. That solved it. I just jumped over the 1.5 with the big changes.

Would Buddy Press do the following for me:
    – Create Usergroups so they receive e-mails/newsletters
    – Setup rank avatars for their profile
    – Setup calander events with e-mail reminders to selected usergroups
    – Membership List with Name, Rank, Role

    Thanks

I just installed on a new site. I had 1.7.2 on my old site but I could never get that to work. Now that we’ve switched over the problems I did have seem to be fixed but I’m running into a few issues setting 1.8.1 up.

I’m on the latest version of WordPress and everything is up to date. My main issue right now is that I’m getting a 404! error when trying to create groups. I’ve read through the posts from 2+ years ago but I wasn’t able to find anything recent. I believe that the forums were dropped after that correct? I’ve changed the settings to let all users create groups but that doesn’t seem to make any difference for me right now. I have it set so that Groups can have their own forum so I’m not sure where this issue could be coming from.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am using wordpress 3.51 with BuddyPress 1.8.1. I cannot post a comment in the group area. Whenever I try to post a comment, I get the message: Are you sure you want to do this? or please try again.

I am not sure why it is not working. If anyone can help, I am listening.

“The following active BuddyPress Components do not have associated WordPress Pages: Activate, Register”

How is this possible? I can see the register.php file and the folder is where it should {?} be

    I don’t know where to start…

(WP 3.6, php on server is up to date stable)
