BuddyPress Moderation schedule / milestones
I’ll define schedule and milestones with my mentors within few days, then I’ll publish them here
Thanks so much, I really look forward to using this. I have a site with 2000 groups and forums in each so this would make my life so much easier if i can be notified of inappropriate posts. Keep me updated!
Very nice, I’m looking forward to it.
nice, this is exactly what buddypress needs..im sure many people will really appreciate this plugin, lookng forward to this..
I’m really looking forward to this project francescolaffi. I’m glad it got selected for Google Summer of code.
Feel free to let us know the outline of features early so we can contribute suggestions also.
Still didn’t managed to have a exhaustive chat with my mentors about my proj, but it should happen in next days. I’ll post news as soon as I have them.
those features were actually planned to be included in BP-core.
Any chance to include it in Core-code ?
Little premise: I’m expected to code both part of the project (bp-moderation and enhancements to bp-album) before the midterm (half July), then I can work on optimization, testing, UI refinements, documentation, integration, etc. and all have to be finished before half of August.
I’ll begin coding bp-moderation on May, 23 and I should have it working in 3 weeks, then I’ll work the bp-album part before mid-term.
So I should have a working version for half of June, but this will not be optimized, documented, refined, but good for testing and finding bugs. If your php skills are not advanced then wait for the final version of half of August.
Features of the plugin are already defined for the gsoc proj. I’ll consider feature request but at 99% they will not be part of the mid August versions, but if they are good ideas I’ll keep them to be coded after it.
As a gsoc wordpress student I have to write a weekly post on thursday on http://gsoc2010.wordpress.com/ with news and details on the project, but I’ll also spread them in this group and on my blog.
Erich73: Is not part of the project including it in the core. If something can be accomplished well with a plugin and not essential for other core components, is usually preferred leaving it as a plugin. Keep this question for when the proj is finished.
I posted a screenshot of my progresses in the gsoc blog, check it out http://gsoc2010.wordpress.com/2010/06/03/buddypress-moderation-week-2/
@Gpo1 Final version will work with wp3
What’s your plans for notifying the administrator/reporting things that are flagged? Will an admin know how many times something has been flagged? Will they be able to clear the flags that no moderation needs to be done?
Also, if I flag it, will other people see that it’s been flagged? Or will I only be able to see ones that I’ve flagged?
It’s looking good. Just thought I’d throw some ideas out there.
If you’re adventurous, you can download the trunk version here:
Will this just cover the BuddyPress side of things, or does it plug into blog posts as well?
Testing version released: http://buddypress.org/community/groups/bp-moderation/forum/topic/testing-release/
@francescolaffi wow, this looks great. i’m just about to go live so not too sure whether to add something in test just yet. how stable is this release? Thank you so much for coding this though, this is the last piece of the puzzle for my community! You are a star!
@rossagrant this is the first version released so it probably has bugs, for mission critical sites use only what has been tested by many and for some time
the frontend should be complete, the backend works but has not everything in place (missing: custom member query, bulk actions)
Now I’m moving my focus to bp-album as I also have to add features to it for my gsoc proj, so I’ll be here for major bugs, but I’ll consider feature requests only after gsoc midterm (half july) or after gsoc end (half august), depending on how much gsoc work and exams I have
