Bug with invitation emails

    Hi @boonebgorges,

    Last night while testing the new IA 1.0.15, I ran into a “potential” bug. I’m testing on a clean install with WP 3.4.1 / BP 1.5.7 / IA 1.0.15. The bug is that the email’s %%ACCEPTURL%% does not generate an accurate url if the registration page is nested under any other page than the site parent. (i.e. mysite.com/my-community/register/accept-invitation/[email] is instead written as mysite.com/register/accept-invitation/[email] and it returns a 404 error).

    This is an easy enough bug to avoid, and it is possible it has something to do with my server configuration, but since I have no idea how the url is generated, I can’t tell if this is a bug or a user error. :)

    I stand corrected. This is not an IA bug, but a server config bug. If this issue happens to you, be sure to *not* define the “BP_REGISTER_SLUG” in wp-config.php as this was what was breaking this functionality.

    Hopefully this helps someone who might be facing this same issue.

    Thanks for the info. Any additional insight into this? Could you elaborate on what you’ve found?

    I can’t seem to get IA to work for emailed invitations (to non blog members) whether I define the slug in wp-config.php or not. They weren’t defined by default, but I actually added the code as outlined in http://wpmu.org/daily-tip-customize-the-url-slugs-of-buddypress-components/ just to see if it would reveal anything new.

    I also tried looking for the code that generates the %%ACCEPTURL%%, but no luck I’m afraid. No matter what I do, the plug-in continues to generate links to pages that don’t exist that result in Page Not Found errors.

    Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
