Can the email sending be a background task?

    I have been using this great plugin for a while and I have email settings as new topics by default, there is a group on my site with 100 members and I have found that as the emails are sent before the page will do anything else, it has really started to slow things down. I am assuming it’s only going to become more of an issue as the site grows, is there a way to have the emails sent as a background task so the site doesn’t interfere with the user flow.

    maybe your hosting provider has a slow email server. I’m not sure why it’s slow for you. It would be a bit complicated to change this to a background task. contact your hosting provider, see if there is an email bottleneck. I’ve done 1000s of emails no problem.
