Cannot create new links

On a fresh install of WP 2.9.2 and BP 1.2.4.1, I cannot create any new links – except YouTube videos and the home page of http://www.google.com
When I create a new normal link, it loads for a while and then displays “Undefined” in red. It doesn’t seem to download the URL information. If I add http://www.google.com as a link, it doesn’t download information regarding the link but only the name – Google. If I add a YouTube video URL, it downloads the information regarding the video as normal and that works.
The error “Undefined” above only displays in Firefox. WHen I test it in IE, it just keeps on loading and not displaying anything at all.
Anyone else experienced this problem?
