    @calvinhsu

    I’m running bp-media 0.1.9 Dec 1 nightly build on wp 3.0.4 + bp 1.2.7

    when uploading pics, this message keeps showing “The file could not be recognized as a supported media.”, and upload fails.

    And when I tried to change the “validate content type” to “no”, the change cannot be saved.

    I got the same error a few weeks ago when I tried out the plugin (haven’t tested it out since). You may have to use the trunk version, though, because December was quite a while ago (or a newer nightly build, if there is one).

    @InterMike , I’d be surprised if the trunk version wasn’t broken, and there is no newer nightly build. They will resume on nightly builds some time this year, hopefully.
    I don’t think it makes any sense to try actually _using_ that ancient nightly build from december. Makes more sense to wait until they come up with a more recent version. Actually, before the alpha release you really shouldn’t expect it to work.

    @vizslah is right in the fact that you shouldn’t be using the nightly build from December, the code has had thousands of changes since then and has preety much be rebuilt from scratch. W’ill be posting a new nightly build in the next couple of days, so keep an eye on our download page -> http://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/downloads/list :)

    @FanQuake , no offense, but I really don’t get why you guys keep using the term “in the next couple of days”. Foxly said exactly the same thing one month ago. And two months ago. So why does pivotal tracker contradict you then? There I read november. Don’t make promises, your life will be easier. :)

    @FanQuake I suspected that he shouldn’t be using that nightly build – hence why I said “December was quite a while ago.” But, there is nothing else for him to use/test with, since a new nightly build hasn’t been put up for a few months now.

    @vizslah They’re doing all this work, for absolutely free. Cut them some slack :) I’d rather wait 3 more months than have it be a premium plugin. It gets frustrating having to wait, but I think it’s worth the wait – and it gives us more time to plan our site at least.

    @InterMike You are right, and I’m a big fan of this project, but I believe constructive criticism is a benefit of open development, not a downside. Development always takes more time than planned, so I don’t complain, and I made sure I won’t need this plugin any time soon. (alpha will be lacking the features I need anyway) But if somebody constantly fails to keep promises, it’s better not to make new ones. That’s all I’m saying.
    Under-promising and over-delivering is usually a better way to go.
