Change the name from Doc

    Hi,

    I’m new here, I had a quick look around but I didn’t see a thread about this so forgive me if I missed it.

    I have enabledBuddypress doc’s in the “groups” of my site and I would like to change the name of the menu Item (and the doc’s themselves) from “doc’s” to something else to avoid confusion as I am using a Document sharing plugin as well (BP Group Documents) for another purpose.

    Is this possible? If so, which file would I edit?

    Disregard. I see this now appears under settings in the newest upgrade. Thank you, Boone! This is great.

    Hi Boones, It should be so cool to be able to do it on each group, actually your plugin its becoming more and more important on my network, but when I try to change the name, its keeps on documents and nothing changes or save it.

    Selu – It’s possible to make it a group-by-group setting, but for most uses, that would be overkill. I may add that feature in the future.

    I don’t understand the problem you mention. You’re changing the value at Dashboard > BuddyPress > General Settings?

    Hi there,

    I didn’t see that before. I have changed it to ideas and that and it works. Now when you go to groups/groupname/ideas/ it says no docs or create new doc. I was hoping those would change to “no ideas” or “post new Idea” Is that possible?

    It’s possible, but you’ll have to do a custom language pack. There’s no realistic way for me to make a UI for changing the term like that. You might look into the Codestyling Localization plugin for help.

    Thank you. I’ll check it out. It shouldn’t really be an issue but my partner wants us to avoid any potential confusion on the user’s end.
