changing message link coding in email notification

Hi Everyone,

Buddypress wouldn’t let me login with my old name so Catincoach is out and Catinw12 is in.

I posted this question a while back and didn’t get an answer. Is there a way to change the coding so that the link in the message/friend/group invitation email notification goes to http://www.xyxy.com/buddypress/”….”?redirect_to=http://xyxy.com/Buddypress/Buddypress/members/xyzmember/messages/

as opposed to this:

http://xyxy.com/Buddypress/wp-login.php?redirect_to=http://xyxy.com/Buddypress/Buddypress/members/xyzmember/messages/

Ideally, I would like to change the coding in the email notification so that it begins as http://www.xyxy.com/…. but my efforts to find that have been futile.

Is this something for the WordPress MU forum?

Yeah this is more of a WPMU question really. It does its best to hide the deprecated www. from most URL’s if it can help it.

For Group invitation I know it’s in the bp-groups folder in BP. The file bp-group-notification.php

at the bottom you’ll see:

‘One of your friends %s has invited you to the group: “%s”.

To view your group invites visit: %s

To view the group visit: %s

To view %s\’s profile visit: %s

I think you just need to replace the %s with your website or whatever you’re talking about.

Remember to back up that file before editing. I dont’ know PHP so I don’t know what it will do.
