Changing the word cubepoints
IDK, but I’d really like to know how to do this as well (without having to go in and modify the plugin coding).
It’s not currently possible without doing a search & replace, remember you would also need to change filenames.
maybe in a future version.
What should I search and replace and where? I tried that and the plugin broke.
@modemlooper I’ll update a version of the plugin in the next few weeks to remove CubePoints requirement & set the page slugs through admin settings.
For now, if you want to do a grep/search & replace, change cubepoints to whatever term you want but do the same with file names.
Do you have an URL I can see where you are having problems?
Not a biggie I can wait if your are adding this ability. I think its a good addition. I know you want branding for the plug in but people, in my opinion will use it more.
I agree this is much needed. Also the comment box that appears after a comment. I managed to change the ? to what I want it to say in the admin but once the box opens it says About Cubepoints at the top.
Anyone know if there’s any ETA on the version where we’ll be able to customize this through the admin panel?
I’m willing to donate a few bucks if we could get it released by August 1.
UPDATE: I have it working so you can change the slug from cubepoints to what you want from the admin screen. I’ll test this a little more today and if all goes well. I’ll release a update to the plugin.
If anyone would like to test it out, let me know please.
@xberserker: me me me!
P.S. and I promise to donate later tonight
@justbishop Wonder if the PM function will return on bp.org …
[Edit: Got your email, let me know how it goes]
I have to go be Mommy for a while, but I should be back around later this evening!
Sounds good. After a few tests if you change it and go right to the points log. You’ll get re-directed to the home page. But if you try it again it will work.
If you refresh a couple times before trying, it will work also.
Just got confirmation from justbishop that it works in her set-up which is WP 3.0.
In the admin section I just labeled it “BuddyPress Slug”
Anything I should add to the admin section to explain what a buddypress slug is to the general admin with little experience?
hi @xberserker, nice update. Sorry haven’t looked at the plugin in a while, will try to at some stage next week.
@thekmen thanks. No worries, I’ve been really busy myself. I have some ideas I want to get complete.
@xberserker hopefully @DJPaul will release his upcoming Achievements plugin soon, some overlap but still enough reason to keep plugins separate. Extremely well coded, checkout & read the comments in the code on http://code.google.com/p/achievements/ – will certainly help to release a superior plugin.
Oh noes, you advertise the secret URL — never mind! If anyone tries it, please be aware that it requires the cutting-edge version of BuddyPress 1.2 branch, WP 3.0 and is not feature complete or tested. It’s alpha.
@thekmen It is http://achievements.googlecode.com/svn/achievements/ (look at http://achievements.googlecode.com/svn/) as a result of how I imported the data into it from my previous SVN server.
EDIT: I think I’ve updated the google project so that it displays correct URLs now; thanks for the heads-up.
