Citations, footnotes and workflow?

Are there any plans to implement citations and footnotes into BuddyPress Docs (e.g., like the Cite extension in Mediawiki, or Footnotes for WordPress)? Are there any technical reasons why this feature would be difficult to implement?
Also, are the traditional WordPress user roles and the Role Scoper plugin compatible with BuddyPress (e.g., a Contributor can edit a Doc, but an Admin must approve the edit before the edit is published)?
