Comment body stops appearing after 1.3 update

I have a site using the BuddyPress Moderation plugin. I’m trying to update the installed version of the plugin from 1.2 to 1.3. The update goes fine, but after it’s done the list of comments shown in the moderation queue no longer includes the body text on each comment. It shows the commenter information correctly, and the links for actions pop up correctly on mouseover; it’s just the body of the comment that’s gone.
Is this a potential bug (either in the plugin or with my setup), or is that something that was removed from 1.3 by design? I checked the README and it didn’t say anything on the subject one way or the other, so I figured I’d ask.

Never mind, I figured it out — the comment body text was never supposed to be listed in the first place! I inherited this site and it looks like someone in the past hacked the bp-moderation plugin to include it. So when the updater ran it replaced the hacked file with a clean new version, thus removing the comment text.
So let that be a lesson to everyone else… do not hack the code of your plugins! Or else the person who has to clean up after you will be first confused and then upset
