Desktop Theme Broken

  • Hi there,

Just updated my site to BuddyPress 1.5 with WordPress 3.2.1 and everything went well with those updates. However, when I updated BuddyPress Mobile to version 1.5.2, I had a few issues:

    1. The update caused the desktop version of my site to look distorted. I checked the source code for the site, and it seems that it includes the CSS for the BuddyPress Mobile theme as well.

    2. When I visit my site on an iPhone, the CSS style is OK, but there is no content in the first page loaded, just an icon that toggles the themes. In addition, the menu in the top-right corner shows only one link (Profile).

    3. If I revert to BuddyPress Mobile 1.5.1, it works perfectly and exhibits none of this behavior, but it doesn’t include the newer features in 1.5.2 like the lazy loading pictures.

Could you please let me know if there is a bugfix I can use for my site? Or if there is one planned to be released soon.

Thanks for your help in advance.

I’m having the same exact problems. This plugin is awesome and I’m hoping to get it working again soon! Thanks!

are you on safari on the desktop? Also links to websites, please.

The front page is created in the admin. Create a page titled bp-mobile and then add stuff like posting a blog and it will show up as the front.

Try clearing cookies from Browser. You might have the cookie set to mobile and that would make the mobile css file show. I’m going to do some fixes and change the way css is called so this doesn’t happen regardless of cookie.

Ok I’m thinking this might be a similar problem with mine. I have a widget bar at the footer area which isn’t viewable on the desktop on either Firefox or Chrome but viewable on my android phone when you click on “view non-mobile site”.

Did a fix on version 1.5.2.1

    Re-test and report back. :)

Thank you very much for the fix to the homepage CSS style! Very appreciated :-)

However, I’m still encountering my second issue. When I visit my site on an iPhone, the CSS style is OK, but there is no blog content loaded in the first page, just an link that toggles the themes. In addition, the menu in the top-right corner shows only one link when you are logged (Profile), and no items when you are logged out.

I read up your post on creating a custom homepage, but isn’t the blog page supposed to be enabled by default. It’s not working for me. The site is http://www.deanaviation.com. I would appreciate any help you could provide via reply or msg.

Thanks again for the quick response! Awesome plugin btw!

Also, the mobile version is live, if you’d like to take a look at what I’m talking about :-)

No, the front page is a page. You have to set up the mobile nav. Go to appearances -> menus and there should be two menu options. One for desktop and Mobile Menu

You can get to blog posts by filtering activity by post but I’ll add a admin setting to choose blog post or a static front page

Thanks much! Got it to work!

    The fix works great. Thanks!
