Determining if BuddyPress will meet the needs of my project

For a project I’m working on, I need users to be able to login to a password-protected area of the site that functions as a forum/social network. For this purpose, I’m considering BuddyPress.

BUT, the same users also need to be able to add, edit, and publish events to the FRONT END of the site. Ideally, they would be able to “Add an Event,” “View My Events,” and “Edit My Events” from the very same BuddyPress dashboard that they’d see upon logging into the password-protected area of the site.

Lastly, events added by these approved users will need to be able to dynamically populate various locations on the front end of the site (calendar, events feed on homepage, event listing, etc).

Wondering if anyone can help me determine if BuddyPress will meet my needs?

Thanks in advance for your help! Let me know if I can provide more information.
    Natasha

Sounds like you just need an Events plugin that allows posting from the frontend. BuddyPress might be overkill for this.

If you do need to use BuddyPress and a frontend Events plugin that integrates with BuddyPress, then you’ll have to look for one that does this.
