Differences between BP & MU 2.6.5 & MU 2.7

    @maxaud

I have installed BuddyPress on a WPMU 2.6.5 install and it shows the following options in the BuddyPress Menu:

    - Base profile group name

    – Full Name field name

    – Show admin bar for logged out users

    – Allow non-friends to post on profile wires

    – Select theme to use for member pages

    – Default User Avatar

I have a second install running on the latest WPMU 2.7 install and it only shows these options:

    - Show admin bar for logged out users

    – Allow non-friends to post on profile wires

    – Select theme to use for member pages

Both versions are using the 1.0b release of BuddyPress.

Why would I not have these options using WPMU 2.7?

    Thanks in advance.

Also, noticed that the “Group Forums” section isn’t present in WPMU 2.7 but it is in 2.6.5

It says the following and has the following options:

“To enable forums for each group in a BuddyPress installation, you must first download, install, and setup bbPress and integrate it with WordPress MU.

Once you have bbPress set up correctly, enter the options below so that BuddyPress can connect.”

    - bbPress URL

    – bbPress username

    – bbPress password

    – Cache requests

    – Caching enabled

    – Cache timeout

maxaud, where did you found WP MU 2.7 official install? oO

I wouldn’t expect / demand that buddypress should work with a beta. I believe Andy et al. will after 2.7 is released.

WPMU 2.7 is available at mu.wordpress.org trunk (not offically released yet)

The BuddyPress.org site states that BuddyPress is being developed on the latest Trunk version of WPMU so I assumed that this stuff should show on the settings page.

I know a lot of people here are working off the 2.7 version. (look at testbp.org)

Is anyone showing these options on 2.7?

2.6.5 have been previously installed, but still feel that a follow-up to the bar with 2.7. Discarded 2.6.5

The options show fine on the latest 2.7 trunk. Are you sure you have all the themes plugins installed correctly?

4Inflater, I’m not sure what you’re saying. Can you re-phrase your post?

    Andy,

I tried with the latest version of both.

I will install fresh copies of both and do fresh installs and report back here what I find.

Would a custom home theme or a custom member theme effect these?

    thanks for your responses

ok, instead of downloading latest.zip from:

    buddypress.org/download/

I downloaded the trunk version from:

    trac.buddypress.org/browser/trunk

I added these and it now works correctly.

I assumed the latest.zip was the latest development version.

    Andy,

The download link from subdomains of buddypress.org (ex: codex.buddypress.org) bring you to a 404 page since it’s probably coded in to be “/download” instead of the full url.
