Different language UI for different users/visitors?

    About half my members speak English, and the other half Japanese. Is there a way of having a per member (or visitor preference) as to which UI language they want to see?

    Barring that, can I customize all the UI strings to be bilingual?

    BuddyPress follows the same language and internationalisation patterns as WordPress — so, multiple language versions of each text string can be added through .pot files.

    Switching on a per user basis is more problematic — but, there are plugins to support it. Have a search on the wordpress.org forums
