Easy way to change Group to Class?

Not sure If I’m missing it, but the handbook mentioned “a BuddyPress Group can be named now a Class of students.”

Is there a config option for this or do I need to do this manually? If so, where should I look?

Great plugin by the way!

Hmm, basically that can be done, by renaming group slug into `classes`.
And changing the translation file to return `class` instead of `group`.

Check out, “Customizing Labels, Messages, and URLs“

Should get you off to a good start.

You could also try out BP Edit Group Slug but you would still need to customize labels, messages and similar. Not sure if the plugin is still working but give it a try, also not sure if changes in bp 1.5 will effect the plugin

I managed to edit the pot file as suggested by @CJ-Kruger‘s link http://codex.buddypress.org/extending-buddypress/customizing-labels-messages-and-urls/.

It would be nice if the modified file was included in the download. (If it was, I missed it.)

Here you can get the modified .po and .mo files that work with BP 1.5.5 & BP Courseware 0.9.5.

Simply download and copy to the bp-languages directory…
Pull up your site and see the corrected verbiage.

I wanted to do this too, but using the word “classes” instead of “courses”. If anyone else has the same need, you can use these files in the same way – copy them to the bp-languages directory…
