Extending Groups – Design Ideas

Hi,

We are experimenting to use WP/BP for our school district. There are about X number of schools in our district.

We are planning to use one Group for one school and add all the students as members of the school.

SO far so good. We want to add Subjects (say Basic Maths) to the schools (groups). The requirement is that students should be able to search for schools offering that ‘subject’.

Can you please provide some design guidelines as to how to implement this? Any pointers/suggestions are welcome.

@sakthi31 what you need would require a custom plugin/solution, like adding custom field/s for groups https://codex.buddypress.org/developer/how-to-edit-group-meta-tutorial/ Please double-check the code/plugin in a test install before using in a live site.
