Feature Request: integration with the activity status update boxes

Would be great to see the “create link” functionality integrated with the standard BuddyPress activity status update boxes. Allowing us to attach links to our status updates.

Any thoughts?

I worked on this for a long time, but it proved almost impossible. There needs to be some modifications to core for this to be feasible.
