Is there a way to have 2 streams?

One would be the bumped stream, the other would be the unbumped stream. I guess the toggle button could be to the left of the tabs for “All Members”, “My friends”, “My Groups”, etc.

I can see the bumped stream helping existing conversations continue, while the unbumped stream would be more for helping new conversations begin.

good question – i would have to look into that. it would be easy to find the “unbumped” activity records just by checking if the activity_meta is not there. but how to pull out the information into a “filtered” activity stream is a different story.

It would be similar to how Facebook has the “Top News” or “Most Recent” tabs on your home page.

@nuprn1, you’ll be glad to know that your plugin has a been a hit on my community ever since I activated it this morning.

I’ve also had 6 members request an option to view both a “bumped” stream and an “unbumped” stream. Just thought I’d let you know.

Overall you’ve got an awesome plugin. 5 stars.

i got it on my todo to research it. (maybe another plugin already pulls out stuff based on the activity_meta?). I could even see a different list for activities with no replies. (but maybe another plugin)

@nuprn1; Thanks for working on an update for Activity Bump. It reads much better now in the stream, and will make more sense to technophobes (who I seem to meet an awful lot!) Only one thing I’ve modified; there are lots of extra spaces, ie., a space + %nbsp + space, so I removed the extras to make it read more ‘English’. Many thanks!

Edit: After some thought it’s been decided to change the second bump time to ‘recently updated’, as two times look confusing for some people. See http://lincme.co.uk/activity/ for an example.

@paulhastings0 – i do have an idea to pull out the unbumped and filter it into the activity-loop via the include arg (takes in a comma list of activity_ids – which i could query). As for custom-post-types, i still need to read up on that feature and what can be done within WP (in general)

@lincme – think i just mimicked the spacing used by the core files but with the filter i have on the content now you can rearrange/change it up.

@nuprn1 Oh bummer. I might be able to ask a coder friend to look into this. Do you have any suggestions as to how he might go about doing it? Or any advice about what didn’t work?

Hi @nuprn1,

My community is still hurting for something like this. Is there a way that we could potentially hire you to add this functionality (and release it back as GPL of course)? I don’t have a lot but I’d be willing to at least reimburse you some.

this would require a core hack – so something i could not redistribute within the plugin. i did make a trac ticket

basically, a filter/method to display all activity stream items with no replies. (seems it could be useful to everyone)

Hallo, one question.
This plugin only works on the main activity Stream? I like to let it work in the group activity, too.
Is this possible?
