I’m on a Single WordPress Install and I’m using the BuddyPress Template Pack to make my existing theme work with BuddyPress. Everything works but this strange occurrence.

When I go to http://www.mysite.com/forums/ it redirects to http://www.mysite.com

Any ideas to troubleshoot this?

Did you complete the Forums Setup in the admin?

I did, the group forums are showing up fine. It’s just the global forums page is redirecting.

Do you have a blog category or group that has the word forum in the slug? I know you can’t have a group and a category with the same name not sure about the forum slug, BP permalinks are buggy.

Did you remember to change WP default permalinks?

Did you try changing the forum slug to something like “boards” just to see if that worked:

I tried this in my wp-config.php file.
define (‘BP_FORUMS_SLUG’,’groupforums’);

Still re-directs to the home page. Yes I changed my WP default permalinks.

@xberserker I’m having the same issue on WP 3.0.5/BP 1.2.8 both with a custom theme and without.

@mrwweb Sorry I did, I had this set to yes “Disable global forum directory?:” turning it to no fixed it.

Under BuddyPress > General Settings
