Forums Redirect to Homepage

Using site wide forums, the “Forums” page redirects to the site homepage. If I use the default BuddyPress theme, I get the message “The forums component has not been set up yet.”
Installation steps

- Installed WordPress
- Installed BuddyPress through plugin repository (which created Activate, Activity, Forums, Members and Register pages)
- Configured BuddyPress
- Installed Site Wide Forums through BuddyPress (bbPress 2.0.2)BuddyPress automatically sets the “Forums” page it creates to be the associated Discussion Forums page. If I remove the association, and put the bbPress forum index shortcode on the Forums page BuddyPress created, then the forums are displayed – although without styling.
Clearly there’s some sort of error with the integration here, if the site wide installation (and its default slug setting) has a conflict with the Forums page BuddyPress creates during installation. The BuddyPress documentation doesn’t cover changing it to anything else, though.
