Genuine User Registrations being taken as spam and real spam taken as genuine

Hi! I am using buddypress for my community and since beginning I am observing that many of genuine registrations at my site are being marked as spam and most of the spam registrations are being taken as genuine. Is there anything that I can do to correct this? Because it is very important for me to get notified for registrations on my site. Thanks in advance…
