Get rid of the name field upon registration?

    Should I just get rid of the name field when a user registers?… and then i could just save the username as the name… the only problem with this is that usernames must be lowercase with no numbers? what the heck is up with that? theres probably something in the trac lemma see

    That’s your call. As I have mentioned in another thread, there is value to the “Name” field, so I won’t be providing this functionality in this plugin.

    As for a Trac ticket, here’s the one you’re looking for.

    Thanks for the reply. Sorry I can’t follow this site more than I already do. I see how there is value to the name field so I’ve decided it would be best to keep it… I was thinking it should continue to work the way it does its just users need to have an easier way of knowing what the @mention is for people and seems confusing to have both even though I do believe having both gives a more professional feel to the site… I think I am just going to forget about because I’ve invested too much time in this already, but as always thanks for the help and obviously the great plugin!
