    Hello,

After upgrading to 0.2.4.2 I receive a Fatal Error when trying to chose gpress options from Dashboard.

    Downgrading to 0.2.4.1.1

    Same here upgrade to 0.2.4.2:

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get_tppo() on a non-object in /wordpress/wp-content/plugins/gpress/gpress.php on line 95

    downgrade to 0.2.4.1.1 fine!

Oh dear – I missed that – it’s an error that would only occur if you are NOT using BuddyPress. I am fixing this now and will upload a new version shortly – sorry for the trouble… Could you confirm that both of you are NOT using BuddyPress…?

gPress 0.2.4.2.1 fixes this problem – please confirm, and again, I’m sorry I missed this one – need to remember to do my pre-uploading tests in both WordPress and BuddyPress! :-)

    @jtmsite

Now we’re getting the same (on 0.2.4.2.1), but line 96 rather than line 95. We had seen it with network activation of gPress in 0.2.4.2, on view of a member profile in the root site which does have BP 1.2.5.2 installed, on WP 3.0.1 multisite.

@jtmsite – I don’t quite understand. Where is the problem now (with 0.2.4.1)…?

I can’t seem to replicate the problem – no more errors for me regardless of whether I have BuddyPress activated or not, or even if I have MultiSite set-up or not.

Is your site online, can I take a look at it…?

    For more information:

Error on site page with places after upgrade:

Fatal error: Call to a member function get_tppo() on a non-object in /homez.305/uscvbm/www/wp-content/plugins/gpress/gpress.php on line 96

Error with gpress options on dashboard :

Upgraded to 0.2.4.2.1 but Fatal error:

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get_tppo() on a non-object in /wordpress/wp-content/plugins/gpress/gpress-bp/user-admin/gpress_bp_options.php on line 43

I wish I could re-create the problem, as I could then test for solutions. I’m truly confused as to why you guys are having this problem but I am not. I have an idea that may fix things, but because I am not having the problem, I cannot know if it works or not, so perhaps one of you could test for me.

Simply remove lines 39 to 63 (can comment them out just to be safe) from the “gpress_bp_options.php” file …

If this works, I will make the changes here and upload a new version, otherwise I may need to explore one of your two set-ups…

    Hello,

It doesn’t work. On site page the same error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function get_tppo() on a non-object in /homez.305/uscvbm/www/wp-content/plugins/gpress/gpress.php on line 96

Concerning gpress option on dashboard – it’s ok; you can launch options, but on site (on main page having a place) you have an error described in my previous post.

@christianebuddy – are you OK with me upgrading gPress to the latest version so I can attempt to debug the problem? Please note that things might go funky for a while whilst I play around, but will be as quick and painless as possible – I promise! :-)

@msmalley I upgraded to the latest gpress, the one with the fatal error in it.

PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get_tppo() on a non-object in /wordpress/wp-content/plugins/gpress/gpress.php on line 96

    Go funky ;-)

@msmalley Unfortunately I had to disable gpress now, because the frontend is not accessible anymore. So as long you are not working on it, it will stay disabled otherwise no one can access the site. When you enable gpress it is still possible to access backend administration without problems, only forntend will not be available. Please do it quick then ;-)

Are either of you using Contact Form 7, as I have just discovered a conflict between that and gPress that is preventing several things from working – and am now in the middle of creating a solution…

We have now uploaded version 0.2.4.2.2 of gPress, which should solve this problem:

Could you please confirm if everything is okay now so I can close this topic…?

    Hi Mark,

The error is gone. I have commented out this line though:

    gpress/gpress-core/gpress-init.php: <![CDATA[ RUNNING GPRESS_VERSION = AND LAST UPDATED OPTIONS IN VERSION = ]]>

Otherwise this will be shown in the frontend ;-)

On this blog there is no Contact Form 7. The Foursquare issue is still unresolved. Only the two boxes visible on the backend…….. ;-(

What do you mean by seen on the front-end…?

Can you see it as a user, or just if you view the source…?

Have you tried to turn off all the plugins (other than gPress) to confirm if it is a plugin conflict or not…?

If you can isolate which plugin is causing the problem, I can download and test on my own local server without breaking anything, but it would sure be helpful if you could narrow down which plugin was causing the problem, or whether it was your theme, or hosting environment…

This is seen as text above the Home Page: “RUNNING GPRESS_VERSION = 2…. AND LAST UPDATED OPTIONS IN VERSION = 2..” so had to comment out the php code that renders this text ;-)

Mark, are you sure that the issue “the gpress plugin on the backend is showing only the 2 boxes for Foursquare where you can save the key and secret after saving? ” is resolved with the other guy?

Then I can test if it is a plugin conflict in my blog?

I ve got an error message : Fatal error: Call to a member function get_tppo() on a non-object in /home/iffamorg/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gpress/gpress-core/gpress-rss.php on line 6

Mark, I have found the culprit plugin that conflicts: Biblefox for WordPress http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/biblefox-for-wordpress/ . After disabling that one, clearing all caches, the foursquare credentials are approved on the backend and the foursquare login button appears and authentication is possible. All other plugins are fine andthe minute I enable this one, nothing works. So there is the challenge in finding a solution (or maybe informing the guys from Biblefox)

Testing this plugin in showing a map. A map is shown in a testpage where this code ‘ [gpress map_id="_foursquare" four_you="true" four_friends="true" map_zoom="11"] ‘ has been put.

But I do not see any checkin points from Foursquare on the map (should be there)? Why is that… or am I missing something and do I have to use the plugin in another way?

@Gpo1 i got exactly the same error on a fresh wordpress (3.0.1) install…

And now all of a sudden after 6 hours, without anything been changed the map is gone. And this error message appears:

There appears to be a problem with the Foursquare integration…

@christianebuddy – Thanks for letting be know about CDATA problem, I missed that, and have now fixed it locally and will upload later after fixing a few more bugs…

As for Foursquare, please note that the Foursquare API is very unstable and often runs into problems. The only way to truly know if you are connected to the API or not is by checking the gPress options page. If anything other than the “Remove Presently Saved OAuth Tokens” message is displayed, it means you have still not connected your account yet. You will only see markers if you have enough friends who have not “hidden” their locations…

As for Biblefox, I will download and take a look after replying to these latest topics…

@jaclar and @gpo1 – we had a similar problem recently with Contact Form 7 that caused the same problem – if either of you could find out which plugin or theme was causing the problem (by deactivating everything other than gPress and then activating one by one), I could much more easily debug the problem…

@christianebuddy – that’s a shame – I just downloaded Biblefox, installed and activated, deleted all my Foursquare credentials and started the process again and did not run into any problems, so do not know what or how to test next… :-s
