what scares me is if you google “gpress” “Call to undefined function add_action()” a whole slew of pages with this problem show up. yikes.
and (sorry for so many posts!) I am not using the 4sq feature – not sure if that’s important.
I am very sure that this is related to Foursquare, even if you are not using the Foursquare feature, which is why I really need to remove the 3rd party reliance such as this and have it as a gPress plugin, but this would require a lot of work, and right now, I just do not have the available time… I will however take another look at how to better tame this feature and try to make it more stable. I just wish the error would happen to me at a time when I am free to debug…
Am finding the same thing — I noticed the error appearing at the top of pages on the site and then found several error_log files in the site itself with:
[22-Jan-2011 20:16:52] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function add_action() in /home/–/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gpress/gpress-admin/fieldtypes/4sq.php on line 182
[24-Jan-2011 05:03:19] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function add_action() in /home/–/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gpress/gpress-admin/fieldtypes/4sq.php on line 182
I tried commenting out the “add_action” line that appears on line 182, but then I got a different error that brought down the entire site. Since this is in production, I’ll need to set up a staged version to try to troubleshoot further.
Got the same one.
Developpers, is there any chance that this bug would be resolved soon ? I’m currently launching a website and I need to know if I should use Gpress or another one.
PS : got this error on my “remote” version of the website; not on the localhost. Maybe this could help.
@marcycapron / @smithwib / @grosbouff
This will no longer be an issue with gPress 0.2.5+ as we have completely removed all Foursquare functionality from core…
Hoping to have the new version out by the weekend at the latest…
