Group avatars nothing happens after upload

    I created a group, during the process of creating the group where it asks you for an avatar, I would select an avatar, click upload, but nothing would happen.

    After trying about a dozen different images, I gave up and continued on with creating the group.

    So I go back after the fact to the group admin, choose avatar, and see the upload button.

    I select an image, click upload, nothing happens. I tried a dozen different images this time.

    The server shows absolutely zero errors in the logs. I have the debug bar turned on, and there are no warnings.

    What could cause this?

    *I should add, that I can change my own user avatar, although the resize is screwed up, very hard to use, it works

    Are you using the latest version of BuddyPress with the default theme? If not, then what is your set up theme wise and what version of BuddyPress?

    Also, just as a check can you upload themes to your media area in WordPress?

    I am using bp 1.7bleeding with WordPress 3.5alpha.
    Yes, I can upload themes, update plugins etc. Everything else works perfectly. This is the first problem I have come across with this install.

    There is a huge amount of change in BP 1.7, and things are still broken. This is probably one of those things.

    Yeah, I’m thinking all my problems are due to running trunk. Lesson learned

    I wanted to add a little more info to this post.

    Checking the uploads folder, I see /group-avatars/1/group-1-avatar-name.jpg so the actual group avatars are indeed uploading to the server.

    The avatars simply never show up in the normal ‘crop’ the avatar portion, nor do they show up on normal pages.

    So, somewhere it is getting lost that there is actually an avatar uploaded.

    *I’ve also noticed that there seems to be no way of deleting avatars that were uploaded prior. So if I keep uploading new avatars trying to get it to work, the old ones just stay on the server, orphaned, never to be deleted….

    The group avatar cropper issue should be fixed as of r6385 in trunk.

    Nope, I still have the error. It works about 20% of the time and only in safari, never works in FF 15x ever..
    I’ll amend the ticket. thnx for trying though :)
