Hey Guys, I am looking for a way for the admin of a group to send a notification to all the members of a group (much like the way in the message system has a check box ). Is this possible? It would really useful to send members in a group a internal message (much like facebook’s send message to group button).

Yes it could be great! For now, the only way is to write on the wire and check the box “notify members”.

Yea, I like that check box, but wish it also went to internal message box, as apposed to only their external email.

Received a request from my client to add this feature this week, and thought this post deserved bumping in hopes of raising the odds it gets included in 1.2.x.

amen to that: This checkbox is really important to me (with or without internal mailing).

The checkbox is not existing anymore in 1.2, but Andy mentioned something over at testbp.org that he has something up his sleeves instead of that with the same functions…. sounds mysterious and I would like to know more about it

It’s a plugin from WPMU Premium. If you want support or use this for commercial use or simply like to support their work, you can subscribe to their service on premium.wpmudev.org. Since this is a very small plugin I decided to share it with you (it’s GPL). Enjoy

Thanks Bowe, but the instruction n sql are for the grp-cal not grp eml. Cheers.
