Help an italian blogger with gpress

    Hello everybody,
I install the plug-in on my blog storiacontinua.com
I can see the maps icon on the editor but nothing about foursquare.

Even in the admin section of g-press, the tab Social Media doesn’t appear like you show in the documentation. I see the form KEY and SECRET, but not the link to OAuthProvider. Why? I use the WordPress 3.0 version and Php5. The geo-tagged post seems to work, Whay not Forsquare?

And the last question: when I make a registration on OAuth what url do I insert in the form CALLBACK URL?

    Thankyou for your attention,

    Scrid

And sorry for my bad english :)

All the information needed (such as the CALLBACK URL” is provided for you when the oAuth link is working. Is there any specific error written in its place…? Are there any JS errors on the page…?

Have not had anyone else report on this problem, so would be happy to help if I could.

Perhaps you can provide a link for me to look at or screen-shot or something…?

    Here it is http://www.storiacontinua.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/08/Immagine.bmp

Like you can see it appears only KEY and SECRET form, no errors or others indications of what to do.

    Thank you

FYI – I have just registered at your site with username “msmalley”.

If you would like to temporarily provide me with admin rights, I would be happy to take a look for you and see if I can try to find out why this is happening…

Really want to know what the problem is? And more important… how to solve this

This is VERY strange, and do not yet know what to say or how to advise…

Have had 3 reports of this problem, but cannot explain it, nor can I re-create it within my own environment.

I am going to need to get either FTP or at LEAST Super_admin rights from someone with the problem who is willing to let me poke around and try to find out why this is happening.

However, I must admit that the libraries used by Foursquare for their oAuth are VERY unstable and require lots of different server configurations – they may not work well on Windows Servers, but this kind of stuff is the stuff I do not know much about, so any help on this matter would be HUGELY appreciated…

I follow your instruction Mark, and I discover that gPrss conflicts with Advertising Manager plug-in and Contact Form7 plug-in. I don’t know whay, but I know that I need of that plug-in

What do you think about that?

    I think that that helps…

That means that tomorrow, I can download and test both of those plugins and see if the same thing happens to me, and if it does, I can start debugging the problem.

Give me another 24 hours to investigate… :-)

We have now uploaded version 0.2.4.2.2 of gPress, which should solve this problem:

Could you please confirm if everything is okay now so I can close this topic…?

I’m going to need more information, a screen-shot or something to log-into and take a look at….

On what page are you getting the error, is it a built in PHP error, are there any indications as to where the problem is coming from…? This is the first 500 error I’ve heard about so far…

This is the error that I read in the file erro-log

    [11-Aug-2010 17:07:24] PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function get_tppo() on a non-object in /home/storiac1/public_html/wp-content/plugins/gpress/gpress-core/gpress-rss.php on line 6

I found some bugs that have now been fixed – I am uploading gPress 0.2.4.2.3 to the repository now, could you please upgrade (once available) and then report back here to let us know if everything is okay or not? Once again, I am very sorry for the trouble caused…

The option page now work well, I connect the blog with foursquare, but in the editor at least doesn’t appear the foursquare icon; only the map icon.

That’s strange… Have you tried deactivating the other plugins to see if it is a conflict with one of them? On all my test installs, both the map and Foursquare icon appear in the post and page editors…

If you can isolate the problem to a specific plugin or theme, I should be able help you debug the problem, otherwise it will need to wait until someone else complains about the same problem and has more information I can work with…
