how can i remove all members posts view?

it seems to default to this. and i would like to have everything default to private and let the users decide what is public.
also when a new user registers how can i set it to only admin can see this activity?
and lastly.
I would like to have the default settings for new users set to private so their posts are only seen by friends by default.
is there a plugin for something like this?
when i first register with facebook, its a clean slate. the only thing public i can see is when i search for new members to add as friends.
