Looking for some solution
At http://buddypress.org/about/roadmap/ the “Potential Future BuddyPress Features (1.4+)” include “Ability to block all communication from a user.”
For now, JJJ is on 1.2.5 and Andy is on 1.3, and that 1.4+ list is educated speculation and the page does not mention a timeline.
Maybe @jeffsayre has something relevant up his sleeve in his upcoming privacy plugin. I read it includes the general ability to block everyone from befriending you, and perhaps then from following you, but I cannot say whether you might use it OOB as you’re asking. “Followers” itself is not an OOB BP feature and Jeff’s covered so much already, I don’t know about extending it to other plugins.
