How do I edit widgets?

Hi, i’d like to edit the widgets upon my homepage.

For example upon the ‘Recent Site Wide Posts’ widget i’d like to change the wording slightly of the text “by admin from the blog myblog”

Which file controls this and where is it located.

    Thanks in advance

    Rosco

Roscosys – Please be clear what you want to edit. You can definitely edit the slugs just read this

and the core hack is not advisable – it means we dont advise editing the widget file as it will be overridden when you upgrade.

There are various widgets that i’d like to change.

    http://dev.thebluesoul.com

    – The Recent site wide posts widget i’d like all 5 recent posts to show an exert of text from their posts, currently it only shows the first posts exert.

    – At the moment only 1 upcoming event is shown, i’d like to show the next 10 upcoming events.

I always draw up a ‘readmebeforeupgrading.txt’ file with the changes so come upgrade time, I remember what I’ve done
