How do I make a sticky wall update?

Any suggestions to make a post update becomes sticky in the activity wall? I would like to use this as simple announcement (rather than using notification bar plugins etc).

that’s now possible with BP 1.7 and bbP 2.3.1 as standalone forum.

@imath @chouf1 that’s a really interesting idea, think it’s a very useful tool, might be experimental but seems pretty well conceived and executed.
