By default BuddyPress doesn’t send ‘crazy amounts of emails’, and doesn’t typically email to every user — what emails are you receiving? What notifications do you have turned on? Is it site wide notifications? What theme are you using? Please provide as much information as you can, as it makes it easier for people on the forum to help you

    Hi
i was create a plugin Buddypress Notifications Manager – BpNM , you can disable email notifications for all members, or you can disable some others. you can enable or disable Email Notifications user access with the plugin too. the plugin work fine wp 3.4 and buddypress 1.5

you can download it and try it in your localhost.
    :snip: – jjj
//Mod edit: this is an untested and unknown file only download and run at your own risk and not on a production site.

after enabling the plugin, go to Setting > BP Notifications

The above plugin is a total fraud. I suppose he tried to hack my hosting account. How can I report this vandal to Admins or Mods?

@newpress Please don’t throw accusations around like that. If there is a problem with the plugin please just state so and request in the thread that the link be removed which is what I’ll do for the moment.

And also a lesson learnt perhaps? Do not just download php scripts or any scripts from unknown and untrusted sources and let them lose on your machine or worse you hosting account where they may also compromise far more than just your site – there’s a level of responsibility that has to be taken on the net.

Do not ever download scripts that are not hosted on WordPress.org or at least have a good following and are well known. I even test plugins on a separate install before using live.
