How to send a message to a user after a specific activity?

Hi, one of my website is using buddypress and it also has a job posting and job application functionality. I want something like that when a user apply for a job then a message should be automatically go to the job poster that “Someone has applied for the job that you posted”. Both job poster and the one applying for job are registered user. Can anyone help me? thanks

Hi. This is not a buddypress issue but the plugin you use which by default, messages should be delivered into there registered email. You may need to make a self test by your self. One of the good type is(wp job board)
