How to Use bphome Functions on BP Member Pages?

I’m currently trying to integrate my design with the Buddypress Member Skeleton, but I’m having problems to successfully call the functions from the main Buddypress home theme.

I would for instance like to use the breadcrumbs function located in my Buddypress home theme. I guess it would suffice to call it from the Member theme’s functions.php?

    How would I do that?

Basically I want my Member theme to access my functions and jquery located in wp-content/themes/bphome/library/js and wp-content/themes/bphome/library/functions.

    Thanks for the input everyone!

You can try copying over the various functions you want to use into the bpmember theme’s functions.php file.

Thanks Jeff, I thought so as well, though I would prefer a solution with importing them? Since that would just duplicate all of the functions and I’d have to to all modifications to these functions twice instead of just once in the bphome theme?

Once v1.1 comes out in the next couple of weeks, this issue should be moot. There will no longer be bhome and bpmember themes. Instead, BuddyPress will adopt the parent/child theme architecture that WP 2.7 makes possible.

Backwards compatibility will remain for a while for those that want/need to use the old theming architecture. But it will eventually be phased out.
