I need to block user access to the dashboard

  • Sometimes when my users login in it directs them to the dashboard and other times it directs them to the profile page…I’ve been trying to fix this, but I haven’t had any luck. Any suggestions or snibets of code that will allow me to force it to send members to the profile page every time when they login? Thanks for any help on this…

Try this. It hasn’t been updated in a while by the looks of things but I have it installed in /mu-plugins and it works well.

    gogoplata,

you are a buddypress nija…lol!!! It worked like a charm! Thanks!

This plugin allows you to change the redirect URL. What link have you folks used to force users to their profile page versus the default homepage?

    Cheers

What’s worked with me is a combination of Peter’s Login Redirect, and using .htaccess + .htpassword to limit access to wp-admin, which means people won’t have access to the dashboard AT ALL without your login and password.

Here is a simple tutorial to get you started.

I also don’t use the default login link that is located on the top admin bar of buddy press, as that throws a person to the dashboard automatically.

    Hey There!
I built a plugin that locks all subscribers out of EVERY page in the dashboard and redirects them to their buddypress profile page. If buddypress isnt installed, it redirects them to /wp-admin/profile.php and stops the redirect on that page only..

    Check it out here:

@erichosting this is too old a thread to be dragging back up. Why don’t you create a group for the plugin? or just simply start a new post to announce the plugin.
