    Wow, you’re just the kind of guy that @foxly and @francescolaffi are looking for. You can take a start here: http://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/

    and here: http://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/issues/list

    Thanx @paulhastings0 !!!
    As I see thous guys @foxly and @francescolaffi are main developers of this project ?
    Can some of you explain me how to start participate ? Need I to be registered on your google-code project ? Now I have downloaded the sources from SVN but it is READ ONLY.
    And, if it’s possible, somebody tell me in two words what functions and classes are useful for me and which files to start from.

    Actually, it’s very easy to get in touch with us, and we would be happy if you would like to finish building the UI for tagging users “Flickr Style”.

    Contact me via email. My address is:

    `
    $a = “CarlRoett”;
    $b = “@”;
    $c = “gmail.com”
    echo “Address is:” . $a . $b . $c;
    `

    Great!

    Feel free to ask questions as often as you like while learning the source code.

    I’ve considered writing a mod for enabling photo tagging. I’m still evaluating a few different plugins vs writing my own. Have you guys made any progress with this or need any help?

    @dmikam checked in this morning via Skype, and it looks like he has working code for the tagging interface. The only UI element left is a “friend picker” (like FaceBook has) …and @dmikam has just started work on it. Hopefully he will get that code finished within the next few days.

    I have booked next week for another dev sprint on bp-media …so if everything lines-up, I should be able to review @dmikam‘s code and get it in the trunk by the end of next week.

    @xgote …don’t write your own plugin, help us build bp-media … :)

    Take a look at all the open tasks https://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/issues/list pick anything you like, contact me to request a “lock” on a task, and get coding! Or, if you want a specific feature (and want to code it yourself), send me an email and we’ll coordinate with you to get it added.

    Thanks!

    @foxly this is great! I will have to give this plugin another look. When I first installed it, nothing worked with the version of WP and BP I have installed (most recent).

    I’ll check out the code and see if I can’t help :)

    This is great news, as the only two reasons I haven’t used this plugin is because it did not have group albums and photo tagging. Are both of these going to be included in the .1.9 beta release?

    Also to add (I only wish I was a programmer so I could help you guys!) I have seen both of the examples the original poster add regarding the photo tagging a few months ago, hopefully your version will be a much more improved one. Maybe with the tagging you could make it a dot tagging system like http://stippleit.com/ which is much cleaner and easier to use. This way multiple objects can easily be tag by using a dot, instead of some box shape that looks funky or having to drag your mouse over the picture to tag it. Placing a dot will give the tagging more accuracy and keep it clean and profressional. They also have a cool feature which you can tag your facebook and twitter friends in the pictures that is explained more here http://stippleit.com/blog. I know that will put this photo album over big time.

    We haven’t finished building these features yet. If you’re a good PHP coder, feel free to join the project and help us get it finished faster.

    We already have a completed Flash/AS3 app coded for this that’s ready to test …we just need to finish the plugin’s core classes before we can fully implement it. Still, I uploaded your code to the work unit in case it might come in useful for something else later.

    We’re always looking for new coders. Perhaps you’d like to join our team? :)

    He’s joined our plugin development team and we’re in the process of merging his new code into the plugin. We’ll make an official announcement once we’re further along in the development process.
