Does your your surver fulfil the hosting requirements: http://code.google.com/p/buddypress-media/wiki/TOP_featuresList
Specifically, the buddypress media plugin needs php 5.3+, and it’s not the default on many hosts!
Having the same issue. Installed WordPress 3.2.1 with no issues. Installed BuddyPress from Plugins directory, no problem. Activate BuddyPress with no issues using TwentyTen or TwentyEleven themes. But as soon as I try either the BuddyPress default theme or Simple WP Community Theme the site home page goes blank. Can still access admin however. Host is running PHP 5.3.3.
Figured it out. When I finished the setup steps and clicked “Finish and Activate” the page refreshed and marked all of the steps as done. But it still didn’t finish. I went back to the BuddyPress settings page and it still had the “Finish and Activate” button there. I clicked it again and BP activated. All is well now, as far as I can tell.
Ok thanks a lot for your help !
Shame on me ! I know that BP media needs php5.3+…. But i didn’t cheked my version…… and i’m using PHP 5.2.17…..

So i don’t understand what appen’s !
I don’t have any problem with BP, i have trouble with BP-Media… If i understood your problem you can’t install BP ? Right ?
And i have the same probleme with older version ! (built 2011-09-07)
I copy the unzipped folder named “bp-media” into the wordpress plugin directory (this way : localhost/mysite/wp-content/plugins/bp-media) : is it right ??
