Do you want points given or taken away for giving somebody a gift?
I’d go for given, but set it at a low value like 1 point by default.
Good point, don’t want people abusing it just to earn points. But people now have an option to change it at least 
Version 1.6.2 adds support for BuddyPress Gifts. You can change if you want give or take points away for it. Default is 1 point.
If you want to deduct points for sending gifts, just make it a minus e,g .-10
The problem is that even if the member has 0 points he can still send gifts – Is there a way to fix this? I mean ,stopping the user from sending a gift if he does not have enough points and the feature is set to negatve?
So if user has zero points, can’t send a gift?
Perhaps making it so that a user can’t have lower than -50 or something?
That way a user is forced to get points eventually.
