integration with gravity forms

hi, thanks for a great plugin!
I’m trying to build a site where users submit posts and need to geo-tag them, is there a way to bring the “Insert a Map” button/functionality to the front-end and to integrate it with gravityforms? I’m currently using their form to let the users submit a post for revision.

    thanks!

Someone on the WordPress forums was trying to achieve something similar – http://wordpress.org/support/topic/using-gpress-in-the-frontend – so I added a filter for them.

We do have plans to add more filters and hooks to let developers plugin to gPress, but the bulk of that work is not going to be started until version 0.3 – as it requires some major changes to the core functions that will make everything more flexible.

If in the meantime, you know what it is you need – as in where you need the filter or how you plan to get the two to talk to each other, I’d be more than happy to add it into the core, otherwise, I will need to add it to the list of things to get around to doing eventually.

I am however a Gravity forms user myself, so it does sound like a cool feature, but at the moment, I simply do not have the time to research what would be required.

Can anyone provide some help or a starting point for this…?

    thanks for the fast response!

I’ll have a look at it, what comes into mind now is removing a field in the form’s array and pushing the map instead. can you shortcut my search for the (php) function that generates that “insert map” form?

thanks again, I’ll keep you posted if I manage to tackle that..

If you can find a hook that we can use within Gravity Forms, or a place where you may need to change an ID in gPress (which we can do by adding our own filters) for it to work with Gravity Forms, let me know and I will then get the functionality added into core… Good luck! :-)

Did you make any progress on this yet…?

Does it help bring this to your attention if I include a mention – @obvio …?

Hi, would be great to get the responses emailed.. anyhow, I didn’t get to that yet since it’s a pet project I have and don’t have the time now.. I might get to it in a month or so, will keep you posted once I have something going.

gPress 0.2.5 now has its own built-in functionality for adding front-end place submission forms, and also has a LITTLE more documentation that may help with further customisations – http://gpress.my/documentation/ – let me know how the upgrade goes and whether you still have specific interest in Gravity Forms integration…
